TAILOR-MADE SOLUTIONS ALL OVER THE WORLD
2021 was marked by the start‑up of major contracts in the Middle East and Italy (see box). In Egypt, RATP Dev Mobility Cairo has taken over the operation of metro line 3 on the Cairo network, one of the densest and most congested in the world, with the priority of improving the passenger experience. In Europe, RATP Dev has once again demonstrated its ability to support a city’s ecological commitment, with the first fully electric Hop on Hop off tourist bus service operated in Brussels by its sightseeing subsidiary TootBus.
In Saudi Arabia, the Group has established a long‑term strategic partnership with SAPTCO (Saudi Public Transport Company) on public transport projects, and in December 2021 signed a memorandum of understanding with the Royal Commission for Al‑’Ula, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to support the development of local public transport and contribute to the vitality of the region. For 2022 and beyond, the Group is using its expertise in the field to position itself on major automated metro projects in Canada, Australia and Singapore, in consortiums with world‑class partners. In France, it is partnering with Alstom and Comfort Delgro to bid for several Grand Paris metro lines.
